"Back in 1994 I had just finished working on my third book. My work had already been published in some anthologies in Finland & things were looking up. With my 4th book I wanted to do something similar I had done with B.E.M. #2, playing around with narrative space. I came up with this story with 7 intertwining storylines that would come together at one point of the narrative & then spread out again to eventually form 13 alternate endings. I wound up writing guidelines on each page on how to proceed, a solution I was never entirely happy with & I would probably try to come up with a way not to use this kind of system if I were to continue this particular story. The thing is I was working with this piece when suddenly it became impossible to get scraperboard in Finland… "
